I noticed in a recent callcentres.net article, that "Offshoring markets are experiencing growth". It particularly mentions that "the Philippines has become a key destination for English voice-based work for the United States".
We're told offshoring occurs because either it's cheaper or you can't get the staff in Australia or New Zealand. I'd be interested in your personal reflections about offshoring and the Australian market. My observation is that offshoring is not all that popular with the local market.
